Terms of Use
Last updated: October 11, 2026
Agreement to These Terms
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of CHRONO and its related services (the "Service"). By using CHRONO, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
CHRONO is provided by CHRONO News Inc., a Delaware corporation ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms apply to all visitors and registered users of the Service.
The Service
CHRONO is a news product that curates publicly reported events into a chronological timeline and produces summaries, audio briefings, and answers to your questions. Content on CHRONO is drawn from third-party publishers and public sources, and portions of it are generated or summarized with the help of artificial intelligence.
You can follow topics to build a personal timeline alongside the main one, read and listen to stories in a range of languages, and have stories read aloud in a synthesized voice.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, and we may limit or restrict access to certain features. We will not be liable to you for any such changes.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use CHRONO. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you are legally able to enter into these Terms.
Your Account
You can create an account by signing in with Google. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, you should revoke access in your Google Account settings and contact us.
You agree to provide accurate information when you set up your account and to keep it current. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings.
Billing and Subscriptions
CHRONO offers optional paid subscription plans that unlock additional features. Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis — monthly or annually, depending on the plan you choose — and the price, billing period, and included features of each plan are shown to you before you subscribe. Subscription prices may change over time; we will give you advance notice of any change that affects you, and you may cancel before the change takes effect.
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from your account settings, and your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods or unused features.
Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider, Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us and Stripe to charge your selected payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. Charges appear on your statement from CHRONO News Inc. If a payment fails, we may suspend or end your access to the paid features until the balance is settled.
Donations made through CHRONO are voluntary contributions and are not purchases of any product. Donations are non-refundable.

AI-Generated Content and Accuracy
Story summaries, audio briefings, and answers produced by CHRONO's assistant are generated by AI and may contain errors or present information in a simplified way. They are intended to help you understand what is being reported, not to replace the original sources.
You should not rely on CHRONO as your sole source for any decision. We link to the original publishers wherever possible, and we encourage you to consult them. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any summary, briefing, or answer, and we are not liable for losses arising from your reliance on it.
To reduce the risk of errors, stories on topics where accuracy matters most — such as legal proceedings, financial matters, and stories about companies and public figures — are automatically cross-checked against the original source reporting before they are published. Stories that cannot be verified against their sources are held for human review rather than published to the main timeline.
Third-Party Content and Attribution
CHRONO surfaces content from publishers and other third-party sources, and links out to those sources. We do not control that content and are not responsible for it. Your use of third-party sites is subject to their own terms and policies.
Story summaries on CHRONO are original, fact-based syntheses — who was involved, what happened, where and when it happened, and the key figures reported — written in our own neutral language, not reproductions of any publisher's articles or prose. Every story identifies its original publisher and links directly to the original article, so you can read the full reporting at the source. Summaries are intended to point you to the publisher, never to substitute for the original work.
We respect publishers' choices about automated access. Outlets that restrict automated collection or that operate behind subscriptions are excluded from CHRONO's automated ingestion systems, and we honor publisher requests to be excluded from the Service.
Images and Thumbnails
Story thumbnails and other images on CHRONO are taken from the publisher's own article page and are shown alongside a link to that article. Images remain the property of their rights holders. Where the publisher states a photographer or agency credit for a picture, we display that credit with the image; where no photo-specific credit is stated, we identify the article's publisher instead rather than inventing one. Images are not otherwise altered beyond the cropping and scaling needed to display them.
If you are a rights holder and would like an image removed, or if you believe an image on CHRONO infringes your rights, contact us at support@chrono.news with the story and image in question, and we will promptly review it. If you notice a thumbnail that does not match its story, you can report it from the image's credit line on the story, and our review team will check it.
Audio Narration and Voice
Stories can be read aloud using a synthesized voice, and you can choose between the available narrator voices and playback speeds. The narration is generated by a third-party voice provider and is not a recording of a human reader — no real person has been recorded, endorsed, or impersonated. Narration is an automated rendering of the same summary shown on screen, so the written text remains the authoritative version of any story.
Translations
CHRONO can be read in a number of languages. When a story was not written in your chosen language, the headline, summary, and interface text you see are produced by automated translation. Translations are provided for convenience only: they may not capture every nuance of the original, and where a translation and the original differ, the publisher's original wording governs.
Publisher Rights and Requests
If you are a publisher or rights holder and would like your outlet excluded from CHRONO, or if you believe any content on the Service infringes your rights, contact us at support@chrono.news with the relevant details, such as the outlet or article in question. We will promptly review the request and remove or exclude the content as appropriate.
Intellectual Property
CHRONO, its name, its design, and the software that powers it are owned by CHRONO News Inc. and protected by intellectual property laws. The original reporting and content we surface belongs to its respective publishers.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from CHRONO without our permission, except as permitted by law.
Your Content
When you submit content to CHRONO, such as topics you follow, questions to our assistant, or messages to our support team, you remain responsible for that content. You grant us a license to use it as needed to provide and improve the Service, including processing your inputs to generate responses and summaries.
You represent that you have the right to submit any content you provide and that it does not infringe the rights of any third party.
Termination
You can stop using CHRONO at any time and delete your account from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or if we decide to discontinue the Service or any part of it.
When your access ends, the provisions of these Terms that by their nature should continue will remain in effect, including the disclaimers and limitations of liability below.
